How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

My cousin found the site and recommended it to me because we both love crafting.

What projects are you currently working on?

I'm working on building my baking portfolio, I especially want to get better at decorating cakes. Whenever GBBO comes back on TV, I'm filled with a false sense of confidence that I can make something that looks that beautiful... maybe one day I will.

What does your craft space look like?

I don't have anything fancy - I usually have to take over the kitchen table for the duration of my project if I'm sewing - which is another reason that I prefer quicker projects.

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

My mixer is a life saver but also makes me a very lazy cook. I enjoy making an all in one cake where I can just throw in the ingredients, and let the mixer do all the work.

What do you craft along to?

If I'm baking, I like to watch something trashy on Netflix like Project Runway or 90210 that I can keep up with without having to pay too much attention. If I'm sewing, there's no point in me having anything playing because my machine is so noisy!

Favorite Craft

I love baking - my specialities are Victoria sponge, date and walnut loaf cake and gingerbread biscuits. Sometimes I push the boat out and make a batch of caramel shortbread or a hummingbird cake.
I also enjoy sewing, I have a love of patchwork blankets which I've offloaded on to a couple of friends as homemade presents. I prefer shorter projects that can be completed within an afternoon, or at the very most a weekend.

Holly's Top Crafts

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I want to learn to knit in the next year. I never really got the hang of it when my mum tried to teach me as a kid, but now I'm really keen to learn and make all kinds of different things.

Who are your crafting heroes?

I adore Kirsty Allsopp. When her Homemade Christmas series comes out, it is set straight to record. I'll binge watch the whole thing, then run off to the craft shop to make whatever she showed.
