How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I just sort of stumbled upon the website when I was looking for crochet project ideas. I joined because I fell in love with the idea of a craft community I could both share all of my ideas with and constantly be inspired by.

What projects are you currently working on?

I'm writing a 365 blog, because I'm completely insane, that focuses on the idea of doing something every day. I've loved writing for forever so holding myself accountable to craft and then write about it has been amazing for my writing production as well as my psyche.

What does your craft space look like?

Sadly, I don't actually have a designated "craft space" my whole house is a constant craft disaster zone. My roommates call me Hurricane Maya.

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

Do spatulas count? I'm constantly creating in the kitchen (baking, candy, preserving) and I'm constantly trying to improve on what I know.

What do you craft along to?

I've been crafting to Gilmore Girls and the Killers. One day I might actually get with this decade.

Favorite Craft

I love crochet, and I actually got into crafts as a community because of Twinkie Chan. My best friend got me her book as a present and I was so inspired by what was in it that I taught myself how to crochet just so I could make her stuff.

Maya 's Top Crafts

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

Lace! I know it's such a grandmother thing to say that I want to learn tatting and lace making but it's such a beautiful art and I've come face to face with people whose families have been doing it for centuries and the amount of dedication and skill an ability like that takes is what drives me to get better every day and with every craft that I do.

Who are your crafting heroes?

Twinkie Chan, Seamstress Erin, my mother. Basically anyone that has that really amazing and genuine quality to see something in their minds eye and produce it in the world around them.
