How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I love CO+K's friendly community and nice craft tutorials, I found the site when I was looking for inspitation.

What projects are you currently working on?

I'm crocheting some shawls and baby hats for a charity that distributes them to orphanages and old ladies nursing homes in Romania. My husband and I moved into a do-er upper of a house last year so we've both being doing lots of DIY but I have some crafty projects planned too, like a patchwork quilt made from lots of retro fabric, some crochet blankets, a rag rug, some mosaics for the garden and some art for the walls.

What does your craft space look like?

Well, we're currently doing lots of work on our house, when the kitchen/dining room is finished I'll have a corner with a comfy armchair where I can do my crochet. I can more to the daybed in the conservatory if I want to stitch in the sunshine!

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

I use my 4mm crochet hook the most, and lots and lots of lovely yarn. I have an impressive stash of retro fabric bought from charity shops but I'm a bit scared to cut into it!

What do you craft along to?

If I'm crocheting then I watch DVDs, I like to re-watch Doctor Who, Sabrina the Teenage Witch or Gilmore Girls, or whatever I'm currently binge watching on Netflix. If I'm sewing then the best sewing music is The Carpenter's greatest hits turned up to full volume!

Favorite Craft

Crochet is my first love, I really love making blankets, shawls and amigurumi. I also have a sewing machine and I like doodling and jewellery making too. I spend loads of time in the garden, it's not exactly a craft, but lots of creative thinking goes into deciding which plants should go with each other!

Susie's Top Crafts

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I can't pick just one! I'd love to be able to knit, learn more about lino printing and have a kiln so I could make clay stuff.

Who are your crafting heroes?

I'm more inspired by stuff I see online and retro craft books than by any one person, but I do love the stuff made by Pip Lincolne.
