Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?
My family and I move about every three years and currently live in a three-story beach rental near the ocean. I love all of the natural light inside our home and that I can hear the ocean waves early in the morning and late at night.
What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?
I decorating my little girl's room first by painting her crib headboard turquoise and using it has a full size bed headboard. Then I created an Alice gallery wall from a calendar, made two gold start-burst mirrors, and sewed curtains.
Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?
Yes, make sure everything has a "home." Recycle junk mail before it even comes into the house. If you haven't used it for over a year, repurpose, sell, donate, or throw it away. Once a week go through a drawer or cabinet and straighten it up!
If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?
I love Gwenneth Paltrow's home but I would also love to see Nate Berkus' home (or just him!).
If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?
I ONLY have ONE wish. I desperately want to paint the straw yellow walls gray but it's a rental and the owners prefer we didn't. ;( Okay, maybe a couple of more... Change the light fixtures in the bathrooms (they are builder's grade from the 90's, yuck), and put tile or wood floors where the shag carpet and indoor/outdoor carpet is.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I will try anything! Mostly I paint (art and furniture), create handmade decor, and sew. I love participating in 1/2 marathons and I have been a professional musician (pianist/organist) most of my life!
