When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?

I began cooking when I was about 6, although my food was simple (grilled cheese) I was all about a great presentation.

What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?

My kitchen is open and organized. It is the center of our house and where the action alway is. Everything has it's place and I am constantly looking for improved ways to keep things in order.

What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?

Don't be intimidated to try try new things and fail. Learning to be a good cook takes time and patience-stay with it.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?

Julia Child and Jacques Pepin. I have been fortunate enough to meet both of these master chefs, but not cook for them. For both I would make cheese soufflé and I would serve it with a great bottle of wine.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

Cooking is my only craft, I could cook all day long. Hobby-wise, I am an avid snow skier. I have been skiing since I was two. My mother still skies at 75, I hope be be that fortunate.

Which cooking blogs do you love to read?

Smittin Kitchen is the only food blog I consistanly read, she's the original.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I am inspired by my two boys (ages 10 + 13) who love food almost as much as I do.
