When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
My mom taught me how to sew and use a sewing machine when I was young. I even had toy sewing machine that really sewed. Honestly, though, I really wasn't into it then. Call it childhood rebellion!
Can you remember the first thing you made?
I don't actually remember the first thing I made. I do remember the first thing I was proud of making though. I took Home Economics (unwillingly) in 7th grade and made a pillow. I still have it. It's two peas in a pod. They have faces and everything!
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
My favorite right now has to be Sewaholic. I love her patterns and that many are tailored for pear shape bodies. I want to sew them all!
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
I can only dream about having my own sewing space! Right now I have a sewing closet, and even that I have to share with other things. I pull out everything whenever I want to sew something. My dining table become my sewing table and I usually end up cutting on the floor. This means sewing usually become a whole day project since it takes so long to set up and clean up every time.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I like to listen to music while sewing. It depends on my mood what I decide to listen too. Currently, my favorite thing to listen to while sewing is country music. It tends to be relaxing and fun, which I need because I'm often a stressful sewer.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love to crochet. Unlike sewing, it's relaxing to me and doesn't require me to make a huge mess. I love that I can do it in front of the tv too. I also like to make some of my own jewelry.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
