When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?

My Grandma taught me to knit one afternoon about 10 years ago now. I made a very unfortunate looking scarf, and promptly hid it deep in my closet so no one would ever see it! I didn’t start seriously knitting until a few years ago, and taught myself to crochet last summer.

Can you remember the first thing you made?

Hmm…let’s not count that first terrible scarf! Several years ago, I decided I wanted to make a scarf for my husband (then boyfriend). I went out and bought the yarn, brought it to my mom and asked her to help me cast on. I had originally planned to make it as a Christmas gift, but I loved working on it so much that I had it finished before Thanksgiving and just couldn’t wait to give it to him!

Who are your favourite pattern designers and celebrity knitters & crocheters?

In terms of Pattern Designers, I really love Carrie Bostick Hodge and Hannah Fettig. Also, Jane Richmond and Shannon Cook’s collection Journey is simply incredible, AND they’re fellow BC girls, which I love. I am also really inspired by the work of Hailey Smedley from Ozetta, Dottie Angel, and Meredith Crawford from One Sheepish Girl.

What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?

I know many people find it boring, but I honestly love making scarves and cowls. I just find them super cozy to knit! Recently, I’ve been enjoying knitting socks as well. Probably my favorite item I’ve ever made are my Archery Mitts. I designed the pattern for my shop, and wore them almost every day last winter! They are very simple but I think that’s why I like them so much!

What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?

I don’t really watch TV, but I love to listen to Podcasts while I craft! Right now my favorites are knit.fm and the new Elise Gets Crafty podcast. Both of these I really recommend for crafty souls!

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

Besides knit and crochet, I enjoy doing embroidery. I also sew a little and have just taken up spinning, which is something I am VERY excited about. I LOVE to read and also to cook, to watch movies together with my husband and meet with friends in cozy cafes.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Thank you so much for the opportunity to share some of my favorite projects with you all!
