When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
I was very young when I first started cooking. I remember baking a pear flan from a French cook book designed for young people. I must have only been about 8-10 years old. I loved that cookbook, I only wish I still had it!
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
My kitchen is open plan and looks into our living area. I love that I can be in the kitchen while still with the family. It is my favourite part of cooking. I have a lot of bench space (which is needed) but I would love more appliance sockets.
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
Cook what you love. If you don't love it then it is unlikely that you will aspire to cook better. I also love finding someone to inspire me. Someone who is passionate and who creates beautiful recipes. Emerse yourself in your favourite cook books and see what stands out to you.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
I would typically say some famous people, but my dream dinner party would be with my closest friends. I would cook for them a banquet of delicious and healthy meals including salads, healthy desserts, and perhaps homemade pizza's.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I don't do any other crafts but I do have a Bachelor degree in Science and psychology, as well as a certificate in nutrition. I am information hungry so I love learning as much as I can. I am part way through studying to become a certified nutrition and health coach!
Which cooking blogs do you love to read?
I love reading JS Health, Everyday Simple Health, Erin made this and To live and diet in LA. There are so many more but those are the ones I consistently come back to.
