When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?

I learned how to sew 4 years ago by reading online tutorials and watching Youtube videos. I remember I saw a tote bag at a museum in Chicago but it outrageously priced. At the time I thought why can't I make it myself? This coming from a person who never used a sewing machine in her whole life! I've come a long way since then.

Can you remember the first thing you made?

A tote bag.

Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?

I love Simplicity patterns and would also like to try the patterns from indie designers one day when I get more free time.

What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?

I'm lucky to have a sewing room with enough space for my cutting table, sewing machine, and serger. I try to keep my sewing space tidy but it's a neverending battle when you're in the midst of a project.

What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?

I honestly never notice music because I'm so focused so I normally sew in silence =)

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

I occasionally dabble in fabric painting and decoupage crafts.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I love working with Liberty Art fabrics. You can see all my Liberty projects on my blog at www.madforfabric.com.
