When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?

I first began baking in 4-H where I made brownies and I first began to cook when I was in college living by myself. I tried to make chicken and it didn't turn out very well.

What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?

My kitchen is very neat and organized - dishes are always in the dishwasher or away in the cupboards, counters are always wiped. I stay clean/organized by cleaning as I cook/bake. And when making a meal, I typically don't sit down to eat until the pots/pans/counters are clear and clean. It keeps me sane.

What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?

Just start cooking and don't be intimidated by anything.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?

Julia Childs. A big fat chocolate cake.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

I'm a scrapbooker, photographer, greeting card designer, wedding card designer. And I have a puppy that keeps me busy when I have any time for myself.
