When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?

I was 12 when I first learned and was taught by my aunt, who was a home ec teacher.

Can you remember the first thing you made?

Yes. It was a very crooked scarf. More of a triangle, really.

Who are your favourite pattern designers and celebrity knitters & crocheters?

Jennifer Hansen of Stitch Diva Studios is my hero. Her patterns are so stylish! It's what I strive for in my designs. Except for the deliberately geeky ones, of course.

What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?

I love to crochet wearables, because then I get to show them off. My favorite thing I've ever crocheted is a yarn cutter necklace. Unfortunately it's also my daughter's favorite thing, so it's hard to wear it around her because she always insists on stealing it from me.

What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?

Right now I'll crochet to anything that'll keep my daughter occupied long enough for me to actually get a stitch in. Pingu and Plaza Sesamo have been good go-tos, although I try to limit how much TV she watches.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

I'm pretty big into costume making and cooking. And I just joined a belly dance troupe earlier this year, so you can bet you'll be seeing more exotic designs from me in the future.
