When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?
My Nan tried to teach me to knit when I was about 5. 17 years later I finally got the hang of it. Thank you for your patience, Nan!
I am dreadfully right handed so trying to crochet with the yarn in my left hand, like I was "supposed" to do, felt terrible so I switched to "throwing" the yarn with my right hand like I do when I knit. There's been no stopping me since.
I've mostly learnt from Youtube and trial and error.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
I made a blanket for my niece when she was born. It isn't too wonky and I may have had a little Grandma and Great Aunt help.
She still uses it today and she's now 8!
Who are your favourite pattern designers and celebrity knitters & crocheters?
I love FreshStitches by Stacey Trock. Her amigurumi creations are AMAZING!
What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?
I really enjoy knitting cables. Stupidly so.
My favourite item is a Rainbow shawl I crocheted. It is currently up for sale in my Etsy shop as I have no more room for things.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
If I need quiet, the only thing you will hear is me counting like a mad woman.
Otherwise I love a bit of Great British Bake Off, Great British Sewing Bee or re runs of Murder She Wrote or Miss Marple.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
As well as knitting and crotchet, I make patchwork quilts and I draw/paint.
A favourite pastime of mine is to have a sit down with a nice pot of tea and a massive slice of cake.
If i'm not doing any of these then I'm spending time with my husband and 2 year old daughter (wee beastie).
