When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?

I first started experimenting with cooking while in college. While a few of my first recipes are memorable for a good reason (perfect zucchini bread!), there are a few that I'd rather forget (I'm looking at you, crockpot cola chicken).

What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?

My kitchen spans throughout my entire house in some ways. I have limited storage space in my actual kitchen, so random kitchen odds and ends have taken over our guest bedroom closet, entryway cabinet, and a large portion of a basement.

In order to remain calm while cooking, I have to clean up as I go. I picked this up from my step-dad while growing up, and it makes life so much easier!

What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?

Keep experimenting, and when you can't figure something out, Google it!

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?

Edward Lee, Alex Guarnaschelli, Robert Irvine, Damaris Phillips, Guy Fieri, and Taylor Swift. I would make ribeye steaks from my favorite local butcher, roasted tiny potatoes, and finish the meal with rich chocolate pie. It would be so fun!

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

As far as crafting is concerned, I enjoy making seasonal wreaths and Christmas decorations. My favorite hobbies include traveling and reading.

Which cooking blogs do you love to read?

How Sweet It Is, Iowa Girl Eats, Pinch of Yum
