When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
For Halloween 2008 my daughter wanted to be a mermaid. I couldn't find any costumes that I liked, so I asked my mother-in-law to teach me how to sew one. After that I was HOOKED. I started following sewing blogs and using their tutorials to teach me more.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
The very first thing I made was a black velvet pillow when I was six. I made it at school. Then I never touched a sewing machine again until 4 years ago!
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
Blank Slate Patterns, Go To Patterns, Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop and newcomer LouBee Clothing are my favorite pattern designers. I can't pic my favorite sewing celebs, I love them ALL!
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
My sewing room is under construction at the moment. My husband put a wall up in the middle of our upstairs playroom and it is my new sewing room. I'm still trying to figure out how to organize it!
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
When I listen to music I like to stitch to empowering female artists such as Lady Gaga. As far as tv shows, I'm addicted to reality TV! (Hangs head in shame.)
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love to spray paint all the things.
