When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?
I started to crochet in 2010, and to knit in 2012. I taught myself how to crochet with the aid of a little book on how to make amigurumis. The instructions were terrible and the illustrations made no sense what soever, so I totally blame that book for my 'weird' way of crochet!
Can you remember the first thing you made?
My first finished crochet item was a little piggie made from t-shirt yarn. Not too shabby, except that it was supposed to be a fish!
Who are your favourite pattern designers and celebrity knitters & crocheters?
I love the work of Mad Mad Me's Charissa Ragsdale, Crochet Concupiscence's Kathryn Vercillo, and Design Wars founder Salena Baca.
What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?
My 'thing' is making and designing mandalas, so I'm always creating them and thinking up new patterns for those. My favorite items are my shawls, made from the most gorgeous hand dyed yarns, and I now have a shawl for every occasion.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
Basically any TV show that's worth watching! I love watching TV shows but also documentaries and movies. If I'm not in the mood to watch something with one eye, I listen to records or my favourite Spotify playlists.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love to draw, paint, read, and generally just be creative. My biggest passion besides my yarn work is music! I play the guitar and the flute on a regular basis, and I also play saxophone and numerous other instruments. If I ever get the chance to go to music school, I would do it in a heart beat.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'm currently working on two very secret but very awesome projects, and I cannot wait to share with the world what is going on behind the scenes!
