Snippets Issue 8 : The DIY Issue

Rachel Renae

A song to get creative to, we've got an exclusive download from singer Rachel Renae.

Rachel Renae

Judging by her official MySpace site, Californian Rachel Renae is already a hit on the coffee shop circuit in her native US and listening to her demo CD, it's easy to see why.

Laid-back and chilled, it goes hand in hand with a caffeine-free soya latte. Starting off with the first track Stand - there are hints of Alanis but you wait for the kick and it doesn't come - which, if you're drinking a caffeine-free soya latte - you'll be used to. The second track, River of Love is melodic and easy on the ears but I didn't get swept away in emotion and I didn't feel as if she did either. Reasons (Remix) the final track, packs more punch and you start to get the feeling that the real Rachel Renae is warming up - just be sure to grab a double shot espresso and a seat by the fire.

You can hear more of Rachel's music on her myspace.

Nice and simple song. Reminds me of Fiona Apple.Happy
