• Step 1

  For the batter, beat butter and sugar until very light in color and fluffy (about 2 minutes).

• Step 2

  Add cake flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Add the ¾ cup heavy cream and the vanilla, mixing until smooth.

• Step 3

  Allow mixture to cool to thicken slightly (about 1 hour).

• Step 4

  For each shake, use 1½ cups vanilla ice cream and ¼ of the cake batter. Add either heavy cream or cake vodka (2 liquid ounces per shake) and blend until smooth.
