Description

(NOT SUITABLE IF YOU'RE ALLERGIC TO LATEX). This cool effective zipper face look has been done to death on Youtube I know, but hopefully this will show you a really easy way to achieve it. The main ingredients here is a zip and tissue paper!

Instructions

  1. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 231920 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b174557.bmp

First you will need the key ingredient: a zip. You can get this at any textiles shop

  2. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 231950 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b174817.bmp

I would suggest placing the zip where you would like to stick it on your face and lightly trace out the lines with an eye pencil – I used a grey (STORM BY RIMMEL)

  3. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 232234 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b175405.bmp

Now your face is basically split into two parts: the choice is up to you… You could pick one pretty side and one ugly monstrous side, two different types of monstrous sides… I decided to do one part delicate and pretty, and the other part a bloody skull. So I just add the standard Marilyn Monroe esque pin up make up style for my eyes and eyebrow area.

  4. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 232432 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b175650.bmp

For the skeleton part of the face – I took a black face paint (BLACK BY SNAZZAROO) and used that to paint my nose to make it look hollow

  5. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 232535 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b175711.bmp

Take the black and paint the underneath of your chin

  6. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 232635 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b175800.bmp

Take a white face paint (I’m using BLANC DE CLOWN BY SNAZZAROO) and put a coat over that whole area, not forgetting the lips too

  7. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 232652 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b175844.bmp

Using my STORM pencil by RIMMEL I roughly sketched out my teeth… Remember without gums your teeth come up much higher than they seem

  8. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 232817 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b175954.bmp

Using the black face paint with fine or small angled brush – go over the teeth you have drawn… (TIP: DON’T WORRY IF YOU MAKE THE TEETH IMPERFECT, IT JUST ADDS TO THE UGLINESS OF IT ALL :) )

  9. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 232910 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180026.bmp

Take a soft brush with a grey eyeshadow of your choice and blend round the edges

  10. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 232951 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180133.bmp

A LITTLE EXTRA TIP: To make the skull look more 3D place a bit of liquid latex glue on your chin and a little bit under your nose – try to avoid your nostrils!

  11. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233017 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180151.bmp

Stick some tissue on your chin and under your nose – keep building with the latex if you wish

  12. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233109 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180239.bmp

Add a touch of the black face paint to the corners to create depth – use a soft brush to help with the blending

  13. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233152 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180331.bmp

I then used a mixture of a yellow and a green cream colour base to draw out the ‘brilliantness’ of the white (They were from a costume shop – can’t remember what they were called!)

  14. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233243 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180428.bmp

Use a bit of latex glue along the edges and create that same paper mache effect with some tissue paper – this is going to be the cut wound :)

  15. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233324 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180444.bmp

Add a touch of theatrical fake blood to the tissue paper

  16. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233408 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180507.bmp

Add some more just underneath your ‘teeth’

  17. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233550 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180542.bmp

Now it’s time to stick on your zipper – using the latex glue

  18. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233623 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180703.bmp

Use some foundation and cover the seam – to make the zipper seem like it is ‘part of you’

  19. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233731 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180803.bmp

Add a few stitches with a black liner – I think this creates the illusion that the zipper has been sewn into you too

  20. Small 114285 2f2016 05 16 233807 fullscreen%2bcapture%2b15052016%2b180913.bmp

Continue with the white and black down the neck for an extra effect.. Et fini!
