Description

This technique makes a great background for ATC's, journal pages, greeting cards, or collages of any kind.

Instructions

  1. Rip lengths of masking tape in half lengthwise, and press down onto the cardstock so that the ripped edges show. Cover the paper as best as you can, but gaps are fine too. Burnish the edges down.

  2. Rub shoe polish all over the page. You will see that it soaks into the ripped edges more, and gets caught in the cracks. I like to fix the surface with something, and so far have found that acrylic gel medium works well. Cut to size for your ATC or whatever your project might be. Draw, paint or collage on top. There you go!
