Combine your wood shims into a format of your liking and secure with wood glue. I combined mine into two different sized bunches. One with nine, large wood shims alternating the length. The second bundle, I used nine small wood shims.
Glue the bundles together in an alternating format, or however you think it looks best.
Secure your sunburst with a stable backing piece. I used a square piece of plywood and glued the shims to it with E6000.
Attach a hanging system to the back of your plywood.
