Wood Burned Barrette

Made it out of a tongue depressor sized craft stick and burned with a standard craft store burner. I glued the little purple gem on it because it needed something and attached it to a barrette with tiny brads I found in the scrapbook section of the craft store. Then I gave it a couple of coats of varathane. I won a third place ribbon on it at the local fair last year.
