we are making ours w/bangle bracelets, thank you SO much for the detailed instructions, esp w/braiding & wire strength, that helps so much! While my stuff, too (to Karen S) looks weird, it is a GOOD thing to keep my SELF & fingers busy!~ now, If I could see straight........... again Thank you!
Thank you for a great tutorial! I have always wanted to make a Tree of Life but did not know how. You explained it so it is so easy to make!! Now I have to go through all my beads to see if I have everything! thanks!
Completely fell in love with your beautiful design and couldn't wait to start making my own. I had trouble sourcing a metal ring until my mum came up with the idea of using the ring from an old lampshade. Bought a couple from a charity shop for £1 (varying sizes) so super cheap and in a good cause! I'm really enjoying this project. Thank you!!!
I love this project. Just a tip- if you are one who wants to do a larger version, you should use a larger/thicker wire. Just make sure your beads will fit on the wire.
I made two of these for my mom and sister for christmas, but I totally spaced on braiding the roots.. Poo! lol I love the project, though! And I've seen the same thing in a catalog and I'm kind of wondering who came first. http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/tree-of-life-necklace-four-seasons
@Lisa H. Mine is gold, too, but I have some copper colored wire that should work. And really you don't really see the actual ring/hoop, just the seed beads.
Excellent! Thanks! I'll have to check there next time I go!
I also found some at Hobby Lobby, but they were gold - oh well. They were near the leather crafts; I'm assuming they're for dream-catchers because they had every size you could think of!
Wow! Thank everyone for all the "love" and comments!
@Scarlet-Begonias (& anyone who was wondering the same thing)
I'm in the process of trying to find more them. I'd actually received a stack of them from a friend who didn't what to use them for and she had received them from someone else in Europe.
They're basically a giant soldered jump-ring. I'm going to search the local craft stores (now that I'm out of them) for more and if I have no luck, I'll check the local hardware stores.
If I find them, I'll let you know where and in what department I found them. If you find them, please share your info with me! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your process.
I can't wait to try it!!
