Egyptian link jewellery bracelet & heart shape link bracelet
This was my first foray into wirework last October/November (2010). They were created from instructions available on YouTube. I found the videos incredibly easy to follow - while balancing my mobile on one knee. However, as this was my first venture into this I didn't make full length necklaces but rather shorter bracelets, which I enjoyed wearing. The Egyptian links were made using sterling silver with an S-shaped clasp, and the heart shaped links brass and copper and is loose enough to slip on! They took around a couple of hours each to complete.
They are both the worse for wear now - however, especially when making the silver one I didn't realise one should use nylon jaw pliers to minimise scratching. You can see how marked it is with nicks and scrapes with the underlying copper shining through. But, hey, that didn't stop me from wearing it!!!!!
