Instructions

  1. Small skull8

Materials used: teal & blue acrylic paint, metallic bronze paint, cream spray paint, super glue, paint brush, pliers. (Not pictured: chain & bull pendant) I found the bull necklace on eBay for $7 and bought the chain at Michaels for about $2.

  2. Small skull14

Start by spray painting the bull pendant. I gave mine 3 coats. (Before that, I also plugged the hole with plaster, the stuff you use to patch holes in walls.)

  3. Small skull1

Paint bronze stripes around the horns and a blue oval on the forehead. With the turquoise, paint over some areas of the blue to give it a turquoise stone look (or you can skip the paint and actually glue a stone on!).

When the paint is dry, take one end of the chain and wrap it once around the end of the horn and glue it in place. I started with gluing a small section on the top first and waiting for it to dry. Then I wrapped it around the back of the horn, gluing it and letting it dry. Starting from the top and wrapping around backwards made it so that as the chain finished making one loop around the horn, it was free to go straight up and around your neck.

Decide how long you want the necklace to be and cut the remaining chain away with the pliers. Figure in a little extra to loop around the other horn, then glue it on. My necklace fit over my head so I’m done, but if yours is shorter or if you want to add a clasp at the back anyway, you can find the middle of the chain, cut it and add on the clasp with some jump rings.

    The finished necklace!
