I bought a synthetic cosplay wig online because I wanted to try out this beautiful blue/green color. Cosplay wigs are great if you can't afford human hair because they don't knot up like halloween wigs, they are made much better and look more natural. When I got this wig it was wayyy too long and way too thick and I knew I wouldn't be able to wear it every day. I had though about dying the top half of my hair this green color and leaving the rest black but I dreaded the thought of all the bleaching and upkeep I would have to deal with. So I ended up coming up with a better plan. All you need to do is take a wig you may have lying around or you can buy one online. Make sure it's a human hair or cosplay wig. You can usually find some great quality fair priced synthetic wigs on ebay if you don't already have one. Anyways, I simply flipped the wig inside out and on the inside of the wig there should be a circular part that is thicker then the rest. The part that sits on the very top of your head when you are wearing the wig. Carefully cut that top part away from the rest of the wig, making sure to only cut through the tracks and not the hair strands themselves. When you cut all the way around you should be able to pull the excess part of the wig away and you will be left with a sort of toupee piece. Then you simply glue or sew in some wig clips to the inside. They come in different sizes and you can buy them at Sally's or online. I got mine from ikickshins.net. I used a small one in the very front center, two medium sized clips on the sides (around my temple area) a large clip in the very center of the inside (where your crown is) and two more smaller ones in the back. Make sure you attach the clips facing to the back of your head so you can slide the wiglet on before you clip it. This will keep it in your hair the best. A few important tips: -Make sure you pay attention to the length of the top layer of hair on the wig. That is the part you will be left with so don't be fooled by long layers. You might end up with only a few inches of hair once you cut the bottom off. I suggest a very long, or all one length wig for longer hair, short hair should use a shorter wig. -You can use any color you want. A lot of cosplay wigs come in funky colors and natural ones too, if you want a splash of color it's fun because you can switch them out whenever you want. Great for black or blonde hair, or get one the same color as your own hair to add volume or cover thinning hair. -You will want to powder your wiglet up with baby powder really good before you wear it out. If it's synthetic it will have a plastic shine to it, and you don't want that. -For staying power i suggest combing your hair flat, parting it and spraying your hairline and hair part (top of your head) with lots of strong hairspray before clipping it in. -You can use the rest of the wig to make some regular clip in extensions!
