Description

Inspired by Amanda Palmer, and using the materials from the Steampunk box from Blueberry Cove Beads, I decided to make a weeping eye necklace using the filigree pendant, eyeball charm, heart beads and tube beads from the kit.

Instructions

  1. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 142938 img 9508

For this necklace, you'll need a filagree pendant in the rough shape of an eye, an eyeball charm or bead, some curved tube beads and any other crystals and pearls you'd like to add.

  2. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 142934 img 9506

Have a few shots at arranging the beads before you begin to find a look you like.

  3. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 142943 img 9510

Slip a pearl onto a headpin and using pliers, bend and twist the end into a loop.

  4. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 142951 img 9511

Repeat this for the remaining pearls.

  5. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 145605 img 9513

Cut a long length of gold or bronze wire and attach it to the bottom of the pendant by winding it through a few of the holes.

  6. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 145620 img 9514

Once secure, slip on the first pearl and knot in place.

  7. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 145628 img 9516

Attach another pearl along the base and then bring the wire through to the front of the pendant.

  8. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 145641 img 9517

String a tube bead onto the wire and bring it back down into the pendant base in the middle.

  9. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 145648 img 9519

Attach a third pearl bead here.

  10. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 145656 img 9520

Repeat this for the other side of the eye, attaching two more pearl beads and another tube bead.

  11. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 145758 img 9522

Back at the corner of the eye, slide a tube bead onto the wire.

  12. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150427 img 9523

Slip on a crystal, another tube bead and a glass heart bead.

  13. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150434 img 9525

Slip a jump ring onto the end of the wire and bring the wire back down through the beads.

  14. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150442 img 9526

Thread the wire back through the the top of the pendant.

  15. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150451 img 9528

Attach another tube bead and crystal then bring the wire back down to the pendant.

  16. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150518 img 9529

Continue doing this along the top of the pendant to look like eyelashes, finishing at the other side with another tube bead, crystal, tube bead, heart bead and jump ring.

  17. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150525 img 9532

String two more tube beads along the top of the pendant like you did at the bottom.

  18. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150535 img 9533

Attach a round pendant base in the centre of the pendant..

  19. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150553 img 9535

Glue the eyeball charm in the middle of the round pendant base.

  20. Small 115311 2f2016 11 01 150559 img 9554

Attach a necklace clasp to the jump rings at either side of your pendant and it's ready to wear.
