Wax Your Eyebrows At Home!

Cheaper than going to a salon :)

About

Yes, I wax my eyebrows at home. And no, it doesn't hurt like a son of a unicorn. I find waxing at home hurts less because you know when you are going to rip the strip off, so you mentally prepare yourself. :)

Don't be intimidated, it's not as bad as you might think. All you need is a steady hand!

It may seem like there's a lot of steps, but that's only to be thorough.
I don't want you ripping off half your eyebrows. That wouldn't look very nice.

You Will Need (3 things)

  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Cold Face Wax Strips

Steps (13 steps, 25 minutes)

  1. 1

Grab your box of face wax strips and open it. They should look something like this, or they might come in seperated strips, as in they're not in a row. These wax strips come with a vial of Azulene oil, which helps with the soreness and redness afterward. Veet's come with "Perfect Finish" wipes. Baby oil also works.

  2. 2

Throw on some of your favorite music. This relaxes you and puts you in a good mood to do your work.

I was listening to (OLD SCHOOL) Tokio Hotel, but you can put on your favorite band(s). :)

Here's the super-sexy Bill Kaulitz with a cup of Starbucks.
    You're welcome. :)

  3. 3

Pull back your hair. I used a headband and bobby pins, but you can use whatever you want.

    Here's me looking like a tard. :3

  4. 4

Cut your wax strips in half so they look like this.

  5. 5

Grab one side of the wax strips you just cut, and gently warm them between your fingers so they're about body temperature.

This helps the wax adhere to your eyebrows.

  6. 6

If you want, you can mark where you want your eyebrows to start with white eyeliner. Mine start at about my tearduct.
I don't mark mine anymore, lol.

Gently pull the wax strips apart and put one half on your center brow. Rub the wax in the way your eyebrows grow, you know, with the grain.
When you're ready, QUICKLY pull the wax strip off. Remember, don't pull up! Pull it back!

  7. 7

The step 6 box won't load, so.. yeah..

You should have something like this! :D

Congratulations, you just waxed a part of your eyebrows! :D YAAAAAY~

  8. 8

Do the same thing to the other side of your center brow.

As you can see, I'm starting to redden.

  9. 9

Take the other side of your wax strips, and cut them so they look like this. Not exactly diagnally, but you can see in the picture what I mean.

  10. 10

Peel one side apart. Place on your brow bone like so.

Your arch is completely up to you. High, low, mid.. whatever! Do some research first to see how high you want yours to be.

Mine's about mid-arch. They don't point; it kinda curves.. do you know what I mean?

Again, rub the wax strip with the hairs. When ready, pull BACK QUICKLY. Do this to both eyebrows.

  11. 11

Alright.. me reddening even more AND looking like a tard 8D

K, now take the other side of those weirdly-cut strips on pull them apart.
Place one end at the start of your eyebrow, and gently put the rest on. It'll probably come to your arch. Rub with the hair, as you should know by now.

Now, pull it back quickly. You know the routine by now.

    Do to the other brow.

  12. 12

Coongrats, you just finished waxing your eyebrows!

Now grab your tweezers and pluck any hairs you missed.

You will notice that plucking hurts less after waxing. Weird, right?

  13. 13

Alright, feel proud, girl! You just learned how to wax your eyebrows by yourself! It wasn't too painful, was it? :)

Grab your Azulene oil/baby oil/ perfect finish wipes and go over your eyebrows to reduce the redness and sooth any pain you might have.

    I wish you luck!
