Step 2: pin cords together 1st, slowly tighten the center knot and use needle to sew the aligned 4 cords together from near the knot; 2nd, sew until reaches both ends of cords; 3rd, cut two proper sized ribbon patches, wrap them separately around cord ends and sew them.
