So I've seen many types of jewlery hanger tutorials on this website. This is my twist and how to version! Enjoy and tell me what you think! You can also find this tutorial on my blog (link in my profile!)
First of all, find a frame, and take out the painting. you should have 2 pieces at this point!
Take the inside frame and cover it in fabric. I used a staple gun to fasten it to the frame. Make sure you iron the fabric before and stretch it well. You can also add a piece of cardboard to make it more flat.
This is what your inside frame should look like after you've fastened the fabric to it. (if you look well you can see I didn't iron my fabric)
Then measure your frame and mark where each hook should go on your frame (I recommend doing this before you go to the hardware store so you buy enough hooks)
For my part, I didn't need to make a whole before I screwed the hooks in because the wood was soft enought. If not you may need a drill to make a small hole before you start screwing the hooks in.
Next, it,s time to spray paint the frame. Make you you are either in a very well aired room or outside. Is possible wear a mask, and gloves for the hand holding the spray can. And go nuts!
Finally, once the framed has dryed (should not be too long) put the inside frame back where it belongs and fasten it (I used finishing nails....that's how it had been fastened originally)
Then put it up wherever you want and voilà!!! The whole thing ended up costing me about 18$ (8$ frame, 5$ spray paint, 5$ for the hooks and fabric was an old scrap) Enjoy!!
