Description

Hate a vestop? Change it to a tube top.

Instructions

I hated this top. The neck went up way too high and the arm holes were constricting, but I did like the colours. So, time to transform. :)

Firstly, take your vest top and cut it straight across horizontally from just under the arm holes. (Not: You can cut it shorter, but wanted mine longer so it doesn't look tarty) Also, if it's stripy like mine, you might wanna cut along a stripe so that it doesn't look shoddy when you're done.

Next, pull the fabric on to an ironing board (As is the board is wearing it). Fold down the ragged line you just cut and safety pin it. Iron it into a crease, being careful to keep the folded part as straight as possible.

Cut a strip of hemming web which is as long as the upward-facing side of your tube top. Place it under the flap and fold it back down. Next, cover the whole flap with a wet towel and iron on a high heat for a few seconds, until the flap is firmly stuck down with hemming web.

It should look like this. Turn the tube top around and repeat for the other side.

And now you're done! It can be worn over a vest top as shown, or if you're brave, on it's own. :) Enjoy.
