This project experiments with using texture. The nails are painted a purple shade then dipped in purple velvet particles for a textured finish. These nails feature a statement design in gold leaf on the ring finger.

Step 1Apply a base coat and two coats of your chosen nail polish.

Step 2While the polish is still tacky, apply gold leaf to the ring fingernail with tweezers. Seal with a top coat and allow to dry.

Step 3Working with one nail at
a time, apply a layer of top coat and dip the wet nail into
the bag of velvet particles. Gently press the velvet into the top coat, then take your finger out of the bag and leave the nail to dry for 30 seconds. Blow off the excess velvet.
