  • How to make a pillow. Velvet Pearl Pillow - Step 1
    Step 1

First take a rule and marker and draw two 21”x 21” squares. Then draw a 20” x 20” square inside each of the squares.
Cut along the 21” x 21” squares. Put them on top of each other so the velvet is inside and the rough fabric is outside.

    Step 2

Sew on the marker line (the 20 “x 20” (large size) or 12" x 12" (small size) square you drew). To sew, you can either use a sewing machine or by hand, take a long piece of thread (the same color of the fabric) and string it through a needle. Tie the end. Weave in and out of the fabric with super close incisions (about 1 millimeter in length) until 4-5” of the thread remain. Then tie a knot as close to the fabric then repeat the step again until 3 sides are sewn and ¾ of the last side is sewn.
Once you have sewn ¾ of the last side, flip the pillow inside out and stuff the pillow with polyester filling until it it fully stuffed to your choice.

Estimate in your mind where the location of you want your pearls to be sewn on the pillow. I did a 3x3 row (total 9 pearls) but of course you can be creative!

    Step 5

Sew the pearls in by weaving in the pillow and through the pearl bead and weaving out so it’s like a circle. Once it’s tight enough, you can tie a knot cut the string and sew the rest of your pearls.
