Description

Everybody needs a little teddy bear (or two). 
Valentino and Valentina are the perfect size;

Instructions

  1. Girl or Boy Bear Head Using brown yarn, R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second chain from hook. R2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sts) R3: *Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (18 sts) R4: *Sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (24 sts) R5: *Sc 3, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (30 sts) R6–13: Sc 30. R14: *Sc 3, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (24 sts) R15: *Sc 2, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (18 sts) Work on face: Attach eyes. Cut muzzle from felt and embroider nose and mouth. Sew muzzle to head. R16: Sc 18. Stuff almost to the top. R17: *Sc 1, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (12 sts) Finish stuffing. Fasten off and weave in loose ends.

  2. Ears (Make 2) Using brown yarn, R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second chain from hook. R2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sts) R3–4: Sc 12. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing, and sew to head. Sew little buttons or beads to Valentina’s ears for earrings.

  3. Body Start with red yarn if making Valentino and with white yarn (underwear) if making Valentina. R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second chain from hook. R2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sts) R3: *Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (18 sts) R4: *Sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (24 sts) R5–8: Sc 24. For girl: R9: Change to skirt color, sc 24. R10: Sc 24 through back loops only (you’ll use the front loops later when crocheting the skirt). R11: Sc 24. For boy: R9–11: Sc 24. For both: R12: *Sc 2, dec 1*, rep 6 times. 
(18 sts) R13: Sc 18. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff and sew to head.

  4. Arms and Legs (Make 2 of each) Using brown yarn, R1: Ch 2, 8 sc in second chain from hook. R2: Sc 8. For arms: Rep R2 another 7 times. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff, sew open end tog, 
and sew to body. For legs: Rep R2 another 5 times. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff and sew to body.

  5. Skirt for girl Using pink yarn, Holding the bear upside down (legs up in the air), join yarn at back of body to one of the front loops you left in R10 of the body. R1: Sc 24 through front loops all around the body. R2: 2 sc in each sc around. (48 sts) R3: Sc 48. Rep R3 until you’re happy with the skirt length. Fasten off and weave in ends.

  6. Scarf for boy Using pink yarn, Loosely ch 40, turn. Ch 2, hdc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off and weave in ends.
