Description

Use up your scrap fabric and miscellaneous buttons by making this cutie patootie animal stuffie.

Instructions

  1. Small 114571 2f2016 06 21 045050 img 3642

Trace out your pattern. I make rough drawings for my stuffies which gives them more character.

  2. Small 114571 2f2016 06 21 045055 img 4156

Cut out your pattern. Then trace it onto your fabric and cut the fabric. Remember to gather your body, face and ears. Note: you'll need to trace and cut out a front and back piece.

  3. Small 114571 2f2016 06 21 045154 img 4166

Next stitch your buttons, felt nose and mouth onto the face. Then sew the face onto the body.

  4. Small 114571 2f2016 06 21 045203 img 4163

Before sewing the front and back piece together, add any other embellishments or characteristics like ears. Once done, pin the front and back together.

  5. Small 114571 2f2016 06 21 045213 img 4167

For this step you can either hand-stitch or use a sewing machine. Sew 3/4 of the stuffie together then add the ecofill. Once you've added the insides of your animal then finish stitching the front and back together.

  6. Small 114571 2f2016 06 21 045222 img 4477

After you've created one stuffie then you'll be ready to experiment with patterns, different animals and maybe different fabrics.

Keep the stuffie as simplistic as you want plus have fun adding the face, arms and feet. Feel free to try making monsters.
