About

My inspiration for this project was basically my limited funds to buy new furniture! I had the confidence & vision that I could upcycle and the shevling. I am SO happy with the result and glad that I didnt have to get rid of any of my books & junk!

You Will Need (4 things)

  • 1 Screw Driver
  • Spray Paint
  • A few Tissues
  • 1 Tissues

Steps (7 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Its time to decorate the bedroom on a budget!
Dismantle the shelving ready for wallpapering...

  2. 2

The Wallpaper is chosen and being put up...

  3. 3

The Wallpaper is now up & its time to put the shelves back up...

  4. 4

Meanwhile in the garden, the once drab wooden shelving is being sprayed in a colour which will compliemnt & match the wallpaper...

  5. 5

Outside spraying is recommended for the best ventilation.
    DO NOT SPRAY INSIDE!

Spraying 1 side at a time - giving enough time for drying - making sure the edges are covered with swift spraying movements.

*Bare in mind the time of the day you do this - with dew in the air early/late this could prevent the spray from drying

  6. 6

Take a kitchen tissue and wipe the shelving down to remove any residue before putting the shelving back up...

If you do not wish to spray the top (because of minimal residue transfer) - only spray the parts that you will see.

  7. 7

Put the shelving back up & put all the books, teddies & music you have back on!
Its saved me a lot of money to buy custom colour flat pack furniture & I definitely recommend upcycling!
