    Step 1

    Bottom:

    Ch 3, join with sl st to first ch.

    Round 1: 8 sc in ring

    Round 2: 2 sc in each sc (16 sc)

    Round 3: (Sc in sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (24 sc)

    Round 4: (Sc in 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (32 sc)

    Round 5: Sc in each sc, join with sl st to first sc. (32 sc)

    Begin mesh pattern.

    Mesh Pattern:

    Round 1: Ch 6, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc, (ch 3, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc) 9 times, ch 2, join with dc in third ch of initial ch 6.

    Round 2: (Ch 3, sc in ch 3 sp) 10 times, ch 2, dc in dc.

    Repeat Round 2 ten more times. At the end of the tenth round, sl st in dc.

    Top:

    Round 1: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each sc across and 2 sc in each ch 3 sp across, join with sl st to first sc. (33 sc)

    Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each sc, sl st in top of beginning ch 3. (33 dc)

    Round 3: Repeat Round 1. Do not finish off.

  • Step 4

    Strap:

    Ch 125.

    Fold bag in half and, being careful not to twist the ch, sl st into corresponding sc on other side of the holder.

    Sc through next sc and last ch at the same time, sl st in next sc on top of holder, ch 3, turn.

    Dc in each sc across to other side of strap, sl st in next sc on top of holder, turn turn.

    Sc through dc in handle and next sc in holder at the same time, then sc in each dc across to the other side of strap, sl st in next sc on top of holder, finish off.

  • Step 5

    Finishing:

    Weave in ends.

    Cut out an apple shape out of red felt, a leaf shape out of green felt, and a stem shape out of brown felt.

    Position the pieces where you want them to be on the holder and attach to the holder using black embroidery floss and blanket stitch.
