Turquoise "Divine" Hat

A lacy shell stitch hat.

I used a US I/9 (5.50mm) hook for the entire hat. The pattern recommends a J hook for the main part of the hat and a H for the bottom edge. I also only did two rows of fpdc/bpdc for the edge. Even with the smaller hook, the hat is plenty roomy. I really like the end result and wear it a lot! A beginner could definitely do this, though you will need to know how to do the front-post and back-post double crochet stitches (they're not hard to learn!).
