Although this is a brooch design, it can be adapted as a pendant, shoe clips or earrings! It's also a great way of using up odd beads that have been lying around … Just pick the colours of any outfit and create this for your jacket/coat or cardigan!

Description

Although this is a brooch design, it can be adapted as a pendant, shoe clips or earrings! It's also a great way of using up odd beads that have been lying around … Just pick the colours of any outfit and create this for your jacket/coat or cardigan!

Instructions

  1. Small 112855 2f2016 01 19 124917 q

Working directly from a spool of 20-gauge wire, place your round nosed pliers at the end and form a complete loop. Continue placing your pliers along the wire, to form a line of loops – about 10 in all, to create a brooch of about 1.5” in diameter. Cut row of loops from the spool.

  2. Small 112855 2f2016 01 19 124810 112855 2f2016 01 10 175617 bead 2bbrooch 2b3

Using your fingers, form the row of loops into a circle, bringing the two ends together so that they overlap.

  3. Small 112855 2f2016 01 19 124923 112855 2f2016 01 10 175623 bead 2bbrooch 2b4

Cut a long (arm's length) of 26-gauge wire and wrap this around the ends to secure and then begin threading with your beads, filling in the circular space.

  4. Small 112855 2f2016 01 19 124858 112855 2f2016 01 10 175627 bead 2bbrooch 2b5

Once you've covered the front of the circle with beads, turn it over and using another length of 26-gauge wire, 'sew' on a brooch finding to the back.

  5. Small 112855 2f2016 01 19 124854 112855 2f2016 01 10 175631 bead 2bbrooch 2b6

And there you have it! It's ready to wear!
