This cake is quite different to anything I've tasted or made before. You have to let the milk mixture soak into the cake overnight. The milk mixture that doesn't soak in makes a good sauce. Some people add whipped cream on top.

Description

Instructions

    Heat oven 160 degrees. Make the milk mixture... Heat condensed milk in a pan until thickened. Add the evaporated milk, cream & vanilla. Stir through & allow to cool.

    Make the cake.... In a pan heat the milk, butter & vanilla until the butter has melted. Turn off heat & allow to cool.

  3. Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt & cinnamon. Set aside until needed.

    Whisk eggs together. Slowly add the sugar. Whisk until light, thick & creamy.

    Slowly whisk in the butter mixture. Add the flour mixture in two lots, gently folding in.

    Pour in to the tin. Bake for 30-35 mins until cooked through.

    Poke holes in the cake & pour over the milk mixture. Let soak in.

    Pour the remaining milk mixture over the cake. Place in the fridge overnight.
