Use these lovely mufflers for when you're first learning the zills!
When I first learned how to play the zills, I lived in a tiny apartment. Rather than annoy the neighbors with my racket, I made these mufflers so I could practice whenever I pleased at home.

    Make 2

    Ch 6; join with sl st in first ch to form ring.
    Rnd 1. Ch 3, dc2tog in ring, (ch 3, dc3tog in ring) 5 times, ch 3, join with sl st in top of dc2tog. 1 dc2tog and 5 dc3tog.
    Rnd2. Slstinfirstch-3sp,ch1,scinsamesp,(ch6,scinnextch-3sp)5times, ch3,dcinfirstsc. 6chsp.
    Rnd3. Ch4,trinfirstsc,ch1,*dcinnextch-6sp,ch1,trinnextsc,ch1;rep from * around. Join with sl st in third ch of beg ch-4. 6 tr and 6 dc.
    Rnd4. Ch1,2scinsamechasjoining,scinfirsttr,scinfirstch-1sp,*scinnext dc, sc in next ch-1 sp, sc in next tr, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * around. Join with sl st in first sc. Finish off, weave in all ends. 24 sc.
    To muffle sound during practice, place one Training Zill over each of the thumb zills.

strange question for you. . . are these the same size as a pair of headphones ear piece?? my child took a bite out of the foam pad for my headset and it keeps falling off so i was actually thinking of crocheting something to go over it but never got around to finding a pattern lol
