You Will Need (4 things)

  • Scissors
  • Packaging Tape
  • Yarn
  • Toothpaste Tube Container(s)

Steps (13 steps, 10 minutes)

  1. 1

The first step in making a yarn dispenser out of a toothpaste tube is squeezing out as much of the remaining toothpaste as you can.

  2. 2

Next, cut the top of the tube off.

  3. 3

Now, cut a line from the top, to the bottom of the tube.

  4. 4

Wash out the inside of the tube. I did this over my sink, and it ended up clogged. You might want to use your bathtub if you are using a tube that still has a good sum of paste left inside. Use toothpaste's best friend, toothbrush, to get into the corners and edges.

  5. 5

Dry it off and have the packaging tape on standby.

  6. 6

Check the stash for the yarn you want to use. (Mine's a mess!)

  7. 7

This is the one I picked out. You might want your yarn to match the flavor of the toothpaste. I picked this one because the name of the paste was Fruit Pursuit, and it looked fruity to me. :)

  8. 8

Using four fingers, wrap the yarn into a tiny skein. Set the skein aside.

  9. 9

Do not tape the top of the tube shut yet. Wrap the rest of the tube in packaging tape.

  10. 10

Using the strand end of the yarn, get it running out the end of the tube.

  11. 11

Put the rest of the mini-skein into the tube.

  12. 12

Put a piece of tape across the top that will be easy to take off so you can reload the tube.

  13. 13

Screw the cap back on, and you've got a fully functioning toothpaste tube yarn dispenser. Any questions? Just post them below and I'll answer. :3 Thanks :3
