I also got a little help here.... http://www.ehow.com/how_6006614_make-newsboy-hat-cotton.html The elastic was fed through the hat band to take an enormous hat and make it fit my 3 year old..... then I covered the seam by attaching some fire flowers and thrifted lace..........
