Pistachio shell tissue box
did I mention I save everything???? yes yes even my pistachio shells...so I had visions of using them in a mosaic..... so i decided to try a smaer project first. I deconstructed a tissue box....drew it out on a large peice of heavey corrigated cardboard adding extra space for a tissue box to go in it and leaving off the bottom. I scored it on the folds on what would be the inside of the box. painted the outside black. The langest part was painting the shells gold. In the future i will purchase spray paint. I painted each shell two coats as the shells did not want to take the paint easily. I clued the box together and then did one side at a time first putting down glue and the shells then once dried i put down a arger amount of modge podge over it all....dont forget to cut out the tissue hole too. when done you have a one of a kind tissue box....this is something the kids can help with too! happy crafting!
