Awesome, easy and pretty way to tidy your desk!
Finally had a spring clean and decided it was time to organise my desk! Didn't have anything to put all my pens/pencils/stationary in, but while cleaning found a pack of mini paper playing cards from an xmas cracker, and thought of this [:

Awesome for people having a spring clean or into alice in wonderland with the playing card theme, would look great with all the cards being Queen of Hearts, but I've not tried it [yet ;D].

  • How to make a pot. Tin Can Playing Card Pen Holder - Step 1
    Step 1

Wash out an old tin can. Mine is going to be cut half size for erasers, but you can keep it full size for pens, pencils, paintbrushes etc.

(Be careful if you are cutting yours half size as the edges are really easy to get cut on, but this is solved by the end ;])

  • How to make a pot. Tin Can Playing Card Pen Holder - Step 2
    Step 2

Print off about 15 playing cards (just search 'playing cards' in google images) Each card should be about 2x1 inches. Print them onto paper, not card.

    Step 3

Cut out each of the cards.

    Step 4

Mix PVA glue and water in a dish. I just mixed a blob with a small amount of water, not measuring the amount.

    Step 5

Dip one of the cards into the PVA/Water mix...

    Step 6

Press it onto the tin, folding the top part of the card into the can (making the edges of the can safe to touch without cutting yourself).

    Step 7

Repeat until the tin is covered.

I like the way it looks with them added randomly, but you could try it tiled [:

    Step 8

Leave it above a radiator to dry, or use a hair dryer to speed things up a little.

    Step 9

Fill with erasers, paintbrushes, pencils and pens [:

    Done! :D
