Description

This Project is simple and can be adapted in a variety of ways.

Instructions

  1. Peel the label off of an old soup can and clean.

  2. Using an old Art Magazine (I used Juxtapoz art and Culture Magazine) find an interesting featured artist. Cut the artwork into rectangles and squares of various sizes. If you have access to a cutting board use it. Otherwise use scissors.

  3. Cover the back of your rectangular/square images with a coat of Mod Podge for paper. Stick the images on the can and apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the magazine cutout as you go.

  4. After you have covered the entire outside of the can with cutouts give it one more coat of Mod Podge. As you apply the last coat flatten out any bumps or air bubbles with your paint brush.

  5. Allow to dry. Use for pencils, paint brushes, or various items. Art By The Clayton Brothers Juxtapose Art and Culture Magazine August 2009 n103
