Description

I made this with inspiration from the link below, but I found out how to create the hourglass(beads and wire in the middle) myself :)

Instructions

  1. Small time turner

Now, begin with the chain. When you have your chain of desired lenght, add a jump ring to the ends. (If you want a clasp as well you just cut the chain in two and add it at the top with jump rings)

  2. Small img 0812

Make sure one of your keyrings is smaller than the other. Add the teardrop shaped beads onto a headpin, the narrower ends facing each other.

  3. Small img 0813

Insert the headpin with the beads into the smaller keychain and cut of the ends which are poking out at the top and bottom.

  4. Small img 0816

Now insert a longer headpin at a 90 degree angle to the beaded headpin. Make sure it ends up between the two beads, right next to the other headpin.

  5. Small img 0818

With your metal wire start weaving it around and around the beads. Start at the bottom, then take ut up and down a couple of times. End it by twirling it a couple of times around the middle, and cut of the excess wire.

  6. Small img 0819

Insert the little keyring with the beads into the larger keyring. Make sure the two end of the longer headpin won't slip out of the keyring.

  7. Small img 0820

Then add the small beads at the ends of the headpin. You can either glue them on or make a small loop at the end. I have made two, and used both methods.

Finally, open the jumprings at the ends of the necklace chain and insert them at the top of the largest jumpring, at two and ten. You might want to add some wire between the jumprings and the keyring to make them stay in place.

And now you are done! Hope you enjoyed the How-To and found it useful ;)
