Cut Out + Keep

Tim, The Trashy Snowman

A Trash Art Project

A friend asked me some help to make her High School's art project. Her teacher wanted a Xmas Trash Art project, something made from recycled elements.... After thinking a lot, we had the idea to make a big snowman! And here comes Tim! We started covering two ballons (the size of the snowman's body) with newspaper strips and white glue mixed with water. While it was drying we prepared the base with a cardboard box where we glued some white plastic bags to simulate the snow and a tree branch, glued with hot glue, to make something resembling a tree. In the center we glued the snowman. Then, we covered it with cotton (the only non-recycled thing) and we broght him to life with two buttons as his eyes and black wool as his mouth. We used an old Santa Claus's hat to make the scarf and of course his hat. Finally, we decorated the whole project with a little glitter. We are two heavy metal and Tim Burton fanatics so... the result couldn't be anything else but a creepy yet amusing snowman! I think it's not necessary to explain the origin of the name... :p So, Merry Creepy Xmas!
