A quick and cheap Halloween/ fancy dress costume

This is my version of a costume I found on Pinterest, I adapted it for a little boy. My son wanted to be a thunderstorm for halloween at nursery, so I took an old blue grandad style t-shirt and my first step was to replace the buttons with cloud shaped ones. I then cut out a thunderbolt from yellow felt and stitched it to the t-shirt, adding smaller ones at the cuffs. As he had a pair of jeans with holes in the knees that I hadn't yet fixed i decided to use them as part of the costume, I stitched felt raindrops over the jeans in different shades of blue. The cloud tunic was was made from a new pillowcase and yellow, I stuffed them both and quilted the front one to add detail- warm and comfy on a cold October day, and it looks awesome with wellies! You could even go one step further with the weather theme and make raindrops to hang on the spokes of an old umbrella, or buy a rainbow umbrella. I was going to add a rainbow headdress/ hat but my son refused!
