Cut Out + Keep

The Star Bag

fusing plastic bags to make a plastic bag - recycle

I saw a video on the web, but I can't remember where. I remember that on the first couple of tries, my iron was way too hot, and the plastic was kinda holey. But after about 20 minutes of starting over and over again, it was nice and smooth. To get a picture to come out clearly and facing the right way, I used 5 layers of clear plastic produce bags. I cut off all the printing to just get a nice yellow fabric, and then ironed all the print potions together to make a patterned fabric for the bottom of the bag. To make the bottom hold its shape, I kept folding and ironing another piece of the plastic fabric until it was pretty firm and the right width and cut it to the length I needed to fit perfectly into the bottom of the bag. Minimal sewing, to reinforce the handles
