    Start with the pupil of the eye using two strands of black and satin stitch. To create the light effect on the pupil, use three strands of white to work a couple of small straight stitches.

    Fill the first part of the iris using satin stitch, worked in three strands of dark gold. Work the stitches from the outside edge in towards the pupil.
